Abu Ka Maqbara

Abu's Tomb - This tomb built in red stone in 1688 is named after the 17th century Nawab Abu Mohammad Khan. Although Nawab Abu had built it after his father's death, there is no evidence that he himself is buried in it. Abu Mohammad Khan had the rank of Hazari during the rule of Mughal emperors Jahangir and Shahjahan, which means he was the commander of one thousand soldiers and 800 horsemen in the Mughal army. Few are aware that the Abu Tomb is also related to the 1857 uprising. Felice Beato, a 19th-century photojournalist, took the first photograph of this mausoleum in 1858. In a book, he had written that the planning of the mutiny against the East India Company was planned in the courtyard of this tomb.
