Shaheed Smarak

Shaheed Smarak is memorial erected in the memory of the revolutionaries who fought against the British in the 1857 uprising. And this memorial was established exactly 100 years after that great war, i.e. in 1957. This monument was given the form of Ashok ki Laat which is one hundred feet in height. And this is where the names of those revolutionaries who rebelled against the British are mentioned. An eternal flame is also placed in the premises. Apart from the statues of many great freedom fighters, in the courtyard of the Martyr Memorial, there exists the Government Freedom Struggle Museum which is the first museum in the country dedicated solely to the 1857 revolt. It was given a makeover by the Central and the UP governments together in 2022. In this facility, the history of every moment related to the revolution can be studied through thousands of documents, beautiful paintings and galleries.
