Teer Gram Jain Temple

Shri Shantinath Digambar Jain Temple - Located in Teergaran locality, this temple is said to be the oldest Jain temple of Meerut. It was built in 1801 by Raja Harsukh Rai, the royal treasurer during the reign of Mughal emperor Shah Alam II. Although this temple was built more than two centuries ago, the idols present in it are hundreds of years old. The main idol of Shri Shantinath ji is 400 years old, due to which this temple is also said to be 400 years old. But the rarest idol is of the first Tirthankara Lord Rishabhdevji found in a nearby well about a hundred years ago. This statue is said to be nine centuries old. This temple is maintained by the Government of India and its interiors are adorned with beautiful paintings and designs in gold and other precious and semi-precious stones.
