This is Topkhana, located at the Eastern end of Mall Road. As the name suggests, during the British rule, the artillery and other ammunition were stored in this high security zone. A small market was also built at this place, which is still known as Topkhana Bazaar. In this market, only senior British officers and their servants were allowed to shop, while the rest of the Indians and British soldiers could go to Rajban and Sadar Bazaars for shopping. A smaller version of the Topkhana Bazar still exists.
